There is a train of thought out in the MLM industry that you should be sponsored into the business by the first person who exposed you to the business. Well I have news for you, in my humble estimation this couldn’t be further from the truth.
If developing a long term career in the network marketing industry is where you are headed then it is imperative that you carefully evaluate your available options.
Why is it imperative that you shop for a network marketing sponsor? Your sponsor is going to be your primary conduit initially to what could be a fantastic career within this industry or they could be the reason you never give this industry a fair chance at making a real difference in your life.
The right sponsor is most often not the top recruiter in your company. Alot of the times what you will find is that the highest recruiting executives within the company are so busy putting the next guy in that they lose sight of the 4 that just dropped out of the business because of lack of proper attention. This is why this type of network marketing sponsor seems to always be running at a 110 mph just to keep their check at a respectable level.
The flip side to this is that you want to make sure that your network marketing sponsor KNOWS HOW to sponsor and create business. Someone who is kicking butt at what they’re doing right now but not so busy that they can’t give you a healthy dose of PERSONAL mentoring.
There are several areas to consider when you shop for a network marketing sponsor:
1. It’s important to connect with a network marketing sponsor who absolutely has YOUR best interests at heart.
2. Are they coming from a recruiter’s mentality or do they understand that long term success revolves around training, developing, and mentoring (sponsoring) their new business partner?
3. Do they have a step by step system in place already to train you and the team you build? This consideration is of crucial importance because remember although network marketing may be a business of relationships there is the MARKETING that has to take place in order to increase the opportunities to form those relationships.
4. Are they a hands on type of sponsor? Will they hop on the phone and coach you or are they too busy all of the time? Do they know how to properly incentivize their team by rewarding the producers with their time?
5. Is their team culture one of cooperation, mutual support, personal growth, and team goals or is their focus on their own personal business to the detriment of others?
6. Are they showing the plan at your local Borders or are they hip to the various strategies a modern networker employs? Do they understand the role that Social Media, Article Marketing, and Forum Marketing have in your successful ability to attract others to you?
7. Do they understand and appreciate the role that offline networking has in the longevity and profitability of your business? Do they create offline networking opportunities to promote team culture?
8. Ask yourself this question; Do I like, trust, and respect this person? You’re going to be in constant communication with your sponsor so it is important to make sure you mesh well with them.
9. Do they study Network Marketing and participate in Personal Development? True success comes from the proper study and application of these principles.
10. Do they have a central site that you can join and interact with other team members?
I truly hope that I have given you something to think about when choosing who will be your next network marketing sponsor. If you take the time and do your homework well it can make a massive difference in your life and those who come after you.
